Pretty-Keys "Life is too short for Ordinary Keys" ... the beginning

As a young woman and coming from a 3 generation locksmith family, I had a fascination with interestingly shaped keys.  When a large key manufacturer began creating a line of full- color enamel coated Disney themed keys, I was hooked.  Tinkerbell was my first colorful shaped house key, but that was not enough.  I had to have a different key every few months, it helped to express my otherwise demure personality.   I was always riding with my uncle on service calls, 'play-learning' along the way, that eventually, in the late '80s, I was operating my own service van and supporting my family.   My husband married into the business and began his locksmith career, still in operation.  Later in the mid 90s,  I was not satisfying my creative side and began following my personal passion of cake decorating.  Over 23 years, I owned (& sold) 2 different bakeries specializing in creating designer wedding cakes, featured on the cover of a local magazine twice; a proud career.   In 2020,  and at 63 years of age, COVID forced an early retirement, but I was not ready to walk away from the business world.  Considering all my skills, interests, and resources, I decided that it might be fun sharing my love for “Pretty-Keys.”  My family thought I was crazy;  I began offering as many painted fashion designer house key blanks as I could get my hands on.  Beginning with an Etsy shop and now working on my Shopify store I have over 300 “Pretty-Keys” to choose from, as well as personally engraved keys.   Adding a wide array of key chains, lanyards, custom key tags, pet ID tags, and more. I do not make a fortune but  in January, 2025 I turned 68 years old but my mind and spirit just will not stop and this keeps me as busy as I want to be.  Please follow me on my journey and add a smile to your keyring with Pretty-Keys.com and ShopPrettyKeys.com
